Canyon Park Engagement Photos | Levi & Candace

Canyon Park Engagement Photos, Costa Mesa, Bride, GroomIntroducing Candace & Levi! Our first meeting was at a local coffee spot to discuss their wedding. After and hour and a half of sipping coffee and getting to know each other, we decided an outdoor rustic themed engagement photo shoot would be perfect! We chose Canyon Park in Costa Mesa as the back drop for their session. It was such a joy to capture their authentic moments with how loving and easy going they are with each other. I’m very excited to shoot their wedding this coming Fall at Crestmore Manor in Riverside. Hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I did!

Candace Hernandez - Thank you Thamer Bajjali! I am so happy and pleased with our engagement pictures. They are absolutely stunning!

Heather Renee Savage - My beautiful Cousin!! You two look so beautiful together. Such an amazing post!

Forest Falls Engagement Photos | Ann & Evan

Ann and Evan were referred to me by Rachel and Logan and from our first meeting I knew we were going to have a blast shooting. While talking to this sweet couple, I realized that Evan and I have a deep love of the movie The Big Lebowski. It’s always fun to be able to drop random quotes from that movie and have someone else know what I mean. Connecting with Ann was also a breeze because she’s very sweet and loves to bake (and I have a major sweet tooth!). She brought us these amazing little homemade “Hot Tamale” macaroons and the most mind blowing molasses cookies with hot chocolate. I am beyond excited for their wedding coming up in October! If you want to see the type of Polaroid camera I used for this session, as well as some behind the scenes and test shots, check out that blog post here.

Polaroid 600 SE | Test Shots & Thoughts

I’ve had the itch to shoot film lately but didn’t want to have to wait to send out the film to get developed, so I started searching for high quality professional Polaroid cameras. I decided to rent a Polaroid 600 SE to play with. I love the ability to be able to change the aperture and shutter speed. The 600 SE has no light meter built into the camera, so what I did was bring along my digital camera and used the built in light meter. It wasn’t the best, but I was pretty close and film is pretty forgiving, the highlights retain a lot of details.  Here are some images I captured around town and some behind the scenes photos from a recent shoot. The film I used was Fujifilm FP-100c. Right now I’m testing out the Polaroid Land Camera 340. Though it’s not a professional camera, it’s still a lot of fun to shoot. Look for that blog post real soon. The Polaroid 600SE with the Mamiya 127mm lens

Salt Creek Grille Wedding Photos | Ashley & Jeff

Petra Calling Photography couple Ashley and Jeff (check out their engagement session HERE!) said “I do” on a hill park overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Dana Point last fall. This gorgeous couple radiated with FUN & LOVE. They had a lot of great details at their reception held at the Salt Creek Grille on Pacific Coast Highway and partied hard with their amazing family and friends.
